Dr. James Liesen is excited to settle back down in Columbia MO to continue caring for many of central Missouri’s children.
Dr. Liesen is an avid runner, enjoys hiking and being outdoors, and loves time with his family. He enjoys gardening and any outside work. He grew up in an agricultural setting and has always enjoyed the outdoors.
He and his wife Dianne have 8 children, and are looking forward to future grandchildren. His middle son was born with a rare genetic disorder which caused him to have autism and multiple developmental delays. Tragically he passed away from complications from an aggressive infection in 2021.
Dr. Liesen says he loves watching kids grow, learn, and develop over time. It is just enjoyable watching newborn babies grow into older infants, then toddlers, childhood and into adolescence. He has always enjoyed being a part of the process by teaching and problem-solving with parents.
